THIS HARNESS BYPASSES THE POWER DRAW FROM THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH AND PULLS THE POWER DIRECTLY FROM THE CARS BATTERY, BUT STILL USES THE STOCK HEADLIGHT SWITCH TO ACTIVATE THE RELAYS TO TURN THE HEADLIGHTS ON AND OFF.

This is the best $21 I have spent on Amazon. I did a LED headlight conversion on my Subaru Brat which has a double switch to ground for the high low beam. In other words my LED lights didn't work. This has 3 wires you hook up. 2 to ground and 1 to battery, the rest literally plugs right in.
It doesn't come with instructions, but if you're not an idiot and change you're own oil you can install this harness. Amazing job putting this together. Saved me hours from doing it myself.

This worked out perfect! I was installing LED headlights in a 1989 toyota pickup, the stock wiring was not compatible with the LEDs. Toyota headlight plugs use a double negative circuit to control the low/hi beams. I had used one of these harnesses previously on my 1964 Impala, since it pulls voltage straight from the battery, no strain on the stock light circuit. the signal from the original headlight plug is now used to activate the low and hi beam control relays, which are transparent, so you can visually see when they energize. I mounted the relays on the inner fender outboard of the power distribution box and routed the harness for a OEM finish. See attached illustration for reference.

Flawless install on 1988 Toyota Pickup

Installed on a 1991 Jeep Cherokee that was having some light problems. This kit fixed the problem of LED lights being "on" when the vehicle was started, and address the parasitic drain that was slowly draining my battery. I do not have a light meter, but I suspect it made my lights even brighter due to the age of my old wiring and the number of splices I found when installing this kit.
The package contained everything needed to complete the install, but I upgraded the mounting screws to bolts using rivet nuts.
Overall, completely satisfied with this item and will be purchasing another to install on my other old Jeep.

I used this on my 1965 Ranchero. It's an all original untouched car so cutting, splicing and drilling was out of the question. I un-pinned the plugs to get the wires through the small original grommets into the headlight housings. It's incredible the difference in light output. I only had 10.6 volts at the original headlight plugs, now there's a full 13.5 with the engine off. It's like the difference between looking at the moon and looking at the sun. This is one of the best upgrades I've made and one of the least expensive. Incredible bang for your buck.

I drive a 2001 XJ and had the usual headlight issues. After researching I decided on an H4 upgrade. It seemed like the only offering for an upgraded harness was the Putco, but after talking to people who bought the harness I realized I'd be better off building my own. I wanted ceramic connectors and after a quick search found this. I decided to go with it because of time constraints and figured I could modify the harness if I needed to.
It arrived on time. The harness itself is sturdy, the connections are solid, and very well built. I mounted the relays on a panel just behind the battery. All the wires have plenty of length and it has an inline fuse. The relays are sealed well and look nice when mounted. I suggest using electric grease on the bulbs for easy install. With the ceramic inserts it's tricky getting the bulbs all the way in without it.
